Arthur Conlan

22/02/2017
Our CSDE students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to work with Aboriginal artist Arthur Conlon during our Term 1 Mini-school.
This is the not the first time that “Deadly Arthur” has worked with our students and some have fond memories of his previous visit. “Deadly Arthur” is now a firm favourite of students from Emerald and Rockhampton.   Deadly Arthur visited both the campuses and encouraged all students to participate in art activities, aboriginal dance, story-telling and even boomerang making and throwing.
In an outdoor setting, students work alongside Arthur to create their own artwork following step by step demonstrations.  Arthur loves coming to our schools as it allows him to work with students to teach them about indigenous art and culture.  “It’s like doing reconciliation without even knowing you’re doing it,” he said.
