Students relish Mini-school experiences

Our students headed to Emerald and Rockhampton to participate in Mini-school. The students were able to make new friends, experience new things and learn new skills.

The students' activities included:

  • Learning about traditional fire making, stone tools and shelter building with the team from Rocky Instincts.
  • Experiencing watercolour painting with renowned artist, Andrea Chapman. The students created their 'personal story' image, a still life and a self-portrait using a colourful range of watercolours.
  • Visiting the Rockhampton Regional Library to engage in STEM activities and tour the historical centre. The students marvelled at how they store 100 year old newspapers in fridges!
  • Raising money for cancer, while enjoying delicious food at the Biggest Morning Tea.

The home tutors were also catered for at Mini-school. Our wonderful Literacy Coaches presented the Linking Literacy Learning workshops to home tutors in Emerald and Rockhampton.

Thank you to the dedicated families, home tutors and teachers who helped make Mini-school a HUGE success!
