Year 7 Camp

Year 7 camp 2014 took us on a spectacular visit to the Gold Coast and Brisbane where we had the most wonderful time. We arrived at Brisbane and travelled a half-an-hour trip to the Gold Coast by bus and stayed in a caravan park which was one of the most enjoyable places I have ever been. The Park had mini-golf, a bouncy pillow, playground, a small water park and more.

Outback Spectacular was a not to miss show with horses, laughs, music and stories. However Dreamworld was the most stand out part of camp for me. I went rides like The Giant Drop, Claw, Zombie Evolution, Tower of Terror, Cyclone, Po’s Garden Ride, The Motocross Roller Coaster, Buzz Saw and the Madagascar ride.

In Brisbane we had the most wondrous time visiting the museums and the Suncorp Stadium however we didn’t see any Broncos. While visiting Suncorp Stadium I had a quick glimpse of the gym and locker room where the teams sat to get ready for the game.

Back on the Gold Coast we got to have some surfing lessons.  It was a fun outdoor activity.  It was everything a kid could want, fun in the sun, laughter, exercise and pain thrown in there as well.  Note to self, get out of the way when a board is heading your way.  I did master standing up and riding in a wave.  The current was really, really strong.

The best part of camp was being able to experience this with both the Rocky and Emerald Year 7 class.  I hope we can all stay in touch next year.
