Our aim is to ensure a smooth transition for families and students as they navigate the change to an online learning environment.
A time for a student induction will be scheduled prior to commencing online lessons, so that students and Home Tutors are equipped to begin their CapSDE journey.
Our Student Induction Program is a compulsory program for all new students before they begin their regular classes. It has been carefully designed to introduce students and Home Tutors to the CapSDE way of learning, helping them develop the skills, confidence and understanding needed to succeed in an online learning environment. Throughout the program, students will become familiar with our technology, learning platforms, school expectations and values, while building the routines and independence needed for distance education.
The induction program is tailored to suit different year levels:
- Years Prep - 6: Students along with their Home Tutor, complete a guided five session program before commencing their normal timetable.
- Years 7–10: Students complete a five-day induction program before commencing their normal timetable.
- Years 11–12: Senior students complete a two-day induction program before beginning their regular classes.
Home Tutors are an essential part of the induction process. Their support during the program helps students establish positive learning habits and ensures they are well prepared for successful online learning.
