Senior Secondary Curriculum
At Capricornia School of Distance Education (CapSDE), we provide a flexible and supportive learning environment for students in Years 10–12 to achieve their individual goals and pathways.
Year 10 – Preparing for Senior School
Year 10 is a foundation and transition year, designed to prepare students for the rigours of senior secondary studies. Students:
- Complete a Senior Education and Training (SET) Plan, mapping out their learning and career goals
- Sample senior subjects, to guide informed choices for Years 11 and 12
- Build the knowledge and skills needed to successfully transition to their chosen pathway.
Years 11 and 12 – Personalised Pathways
Students in Years 11 and 12 can choose from a wide range of subjects and programs approved by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA), including:
- General subjects (university ATAR pathway)
- Applied subjects (career and employment pathway)
- Vocational Education and Training (VET) certificates
- School-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SATs)
- Work experience programs
Our goal is that every student leaves CapSDE with a clear pathway forward—whether into further education, training, or the workforce—backed by the confidence, skills, and qualifications needed for success.
