Students of the Capricornia School of Distance Education require the following materials to support their school learning program. Please provide these materials for your students to start on the first school day.
We recommend books be covered for longevity. Some of these items will need replenishing throughout the year. Items in good condition from the previous year should be reused where possible.
Please note you may be asked to provide some materials from the booklist for use at Mini-schools, check with your class teacher prior to these events.
Individual teachers may ask you to purchase items specific to class events and programs throughout the year.
Families will be invoiced for additional resources and subscriptions on enrolment or at the beginning of Term 1. For example: Primary students will need Spelling Mastery.
It is expected all students at CSDE have access to a computer or laptop, with webcam and headset with microphone. It is also a very strong recommendation that families purchase a scanner to facilitate faster return of work.
It is a school expectation that all students use a broad brimmed hat that covers students’ face, ears and neck at school events, such as Mini-schools, cluster visits, swimming and athletics carnivals. Students who arrive at these events without a broad brimmed hat will not be allowed to participate.
You will note there are items listed such as calculators, dictionaries and thesauruses. We expect that the brands listed on this booklist be the items purchased.
Teachers will advise prior to Mini-schools the required materials to be brought from home required by each student. All items brought to Mini-school must be clearly labelled – hats, lunch boxes, pencils etc.
A Dictionary and Thesaurus (Junior for Primary school) are invaluable in your classroom and we strongly recommend that you purchase them to add to your general school resources.
CAMPION
CSDE understands the difficulty some families face when trying to purchase booklist items, whilst living remotely, or difficulty accessing stores. As a result we now offer families the opportunity to purchase their booklist items through Campion online. Campion has the complete list of all items on CSDE book lists available, with delivery before the start of school.
Using Campion for your back to school supplies is not compulsory, however this convenient option is available to families who may like to utilise the service. Families can choose what they would like to purchase out of the booklists, so if you have left over items from the year before, you can choose not to add them to your cart for 2024 items.
