At Capricornia School of Distance Education, the Australian Curriculum is delivered through a blended learning framework that combines printed and digital resources with online lessons and structured face-to-face interactions such as field services, Mini-Schools, and home visits.
Students engage with curriculum content through a mix of:
Online lessons with teachers
Offline lessons via QLearn (eTeach)
Offline subjects facilitated by Home Tutors
Learning materials are carefully aligned to each student’s stage of development, ensuring age-appropriate progression. All students are expected to have access to a computer and the internet to participate fully in lessons.
Online Lessons
Attending online lessons is a vital part of distance education. These sessions are not just about attendance—they provide opportunities to engage in real-time learning, access teacher support, build connections, and stay on track with studies.
Lessons are delivered through Microsoft Teams virtual classrooms according to the school timetable. Attendance is monitored through active participation and the submission of assigned work, unless an alternative offline arrangement has been approved by the Principal.
