The Queensland Government’s Back to School Boost provides an annual $100 contribution for every primary student (Prep–Year 6) to help families with the cost of schooling essentials. This credit is automatically allocated to your child at CapSDE and does not require a separate application.
Families may nominate how they would like the Back to School Boost credit to be applied. Examples: school fees for home-based by choice students, school camps/excursions, school uniform purchases.
Carry-over of unspent funds
Any unspent Back to School Boost funds remain on a student’s account and will carry over to the next year while a child remains enrolled in Primary year levels at the same state school. Credits do not transfer over to Years 7 - 12, however will be paid out at the completion of primary schooling or departure from CapSDE.
Outstanding debts from before 2026
A state school cannot use the Back to School Boost to offset debts prior to 2026.
